From Rock Star to bLU Talks: Corey Poirier’s Inspiring Journey to Empowering Speakers

When Corey Poirier started his journey, he was carving his path as a musician.

He felt being a singer / songwriter was his calling. He was obsessed with music from the time he was very young.

He wrote his first song at age 12, he ended up releasing 4 CD’s, released a music video, had his songs hit rotation on radio and was even nominated for having the 2014 Rock Recording of the Year.

He never would have expected that his journey would take a new turn. Until it did.

In 2015, after years of playing and performing music and performing stand-up comedy in clubs, Poirier finally made a decision to switch over to being a full-time speaker.

That is when everything changed.

Replacing his guitar and wired mic for a wireless mic wasn’t an easy decision, but doing so allowed him to finally place his focus on one area of his life.

Poirier, having already spoken at thousands of conferences, was able to place all of his focus on not only speaking at conferences, but helping other speakers launch their own speaking careers.

The end result?

bLU Talks.

Without the distraction of spreading himself across multiple industries, Poirier was able to launch a brand that could finally help him achieve his goal of helping other speakers (and experts) launch their own businesses, and brands.

And helping others he did. 

In fact, to date, over 600 people have spoken at Poirier’s live bLU Talks events, over 500 have become bestselling authors through his books and almost as many have been featured on platforms like KNEKT TV, Apple, Roku, Amazon Fire and many others.

This new pivot in his life, from speaker to helping experts, meant another switch for Poirier, which eventually saw him accepting less bookings himself so that he could focus on helping others with their careers.

It might seem like Poirier only discovered his calling at this point, but Poirier’s time in the music business, which he may finds his way back to, his time performing in stand-up clubs, and his time speaking on stages everywhere, was necessary for him to become the person he is today.

It’s also safe to say that his evolution isn’t done and there are still many surprises he’ll face.

In the meantime, Poirier continues to focus his efforts on becoming the best version of himself and allowing the universe tell him which step is next. So far, it seems to have led him the right direction as Poirier’s work has seen him become a SUCCESS Magazine Emerging Entrepreneur, a Wall Street Journal / USA Today Bestselling Author and 5x TEDx Speaker.
